Japan instituted the Leprosy Prevention Law

1949

The KMT’s Taiwan Provincial Government instituted the Taiwan Provincial Leprosy Prevention Law

1953

Dapsone (DDS) was used to cure leprosy in  Taiwan to cure Hansen's disease

1930

The Lo-Sheng Leprosy Sanatorium started operating

2017

1962

The Provincial Government discontinued the practice of segregation

1983

Multidrug Therapy (MDT) was applied to cure leprosy in Taiwan

1986

Because of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin, there were no longer any new patients under 12 of age in Taiwan

1994

Taipei City Government’s Department of Rapid Transit Systems chose Lo-Sheng’s land to build a depot

2005

Activist group the Lo-Sheng Preservation Self-Help Group (樂生保留自救會) was formed

2007

Parts of Lo-Sheng were demolished

2009

Lo-Sheng Leprosy Sanatorium was added to the list of potential UNESCO World Heritage site
Demolition started again

1931

The Taiwan Sotokufu applied the Leprosy Prevention Law

1934

2004

Activist group the Lo-Sheng Youth League (樂生青年聯盟) was formed
